News Chinese Shadowing screen – Chinese text with tone-marked pinyin, an audio playback bar and the English translation

You know the words — so why does one sentence of Chinese news still stop you?

News Chinese is an intermediate-to-advanced learning app: understand one sentence in depth — literal translation, natural translation, sentence structure, key vocabulary — then extend it with a word-order quiz and real news.

Read a sentence, hear it, rebuild it, then meet it again in real news. Reading and listening grow together — ideal for intermediate and advanced HSK prep and for current-affairs Chinese.

Key features

Understand one sentence all the way through

The course is built from real Chinese news articles, edited into lessons you work through step by step. Every sentence comes with the Chinese original, pinyin with tone marks, a literal word-for-word reading, a natural translation, sentence structure and key vocabulary.

Don't stop at the meaning — see how the sentence is built and what nuance each expression carries. Every course sentence plays in the voice of a high-quality AI Chinese news anchor.

Make sentences yours with the word-order quiz

Tap the word tiles from a sentence you've studied back into the right order. Each stage has 5 questions, so sentence structure and Chinese word order sink in naturally.

You can replay completed stages anytime for review.

Real Chinese news to read and hear every day

Fresh Chinese articles arrive daily from open news sources such as 联合国新闻 and VOA 中文.

Articles support TTS playback and Google Translate, and each one comes with its own extracted vocabulary list.

Bookmarks

Save the sentences you like and the articles worth rereading, then study them all in one focused place.

A vocabulary notebook that fills itself

Words you mark as learned in the vocabulary list in Latest News Reading are saved to your own notebook automatically. A built-in dictionary of 100,000+ entries shows hanzi, pinyin, meaning and audio in one place, and the full-dictionary tab lets you browse every entry in pinyin order or search it. A dedicated HSK tab covers levels 1 through 9.
